Derek Jeter, other major league baseball celebrities, and baseball cards

Around my circle of friends I am known as the baseball card collector. Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, and even Pete Rose: I enjoy collecting. Card collecting is a hobby that seems to be falling by the wayside. What happened to cause this? Several factors include increased cost of cards and  expansion teams creating more players, to equal more cards, to equal more out of pocket expense. Another cause is losing the concept of a home team player. Trades are made and suddenly your favorite Diamondback is pitching for the Yankees! It's hard to get attached to someone who will probably go away. Please read on to see why the resurrection of baseball card collections is a good idea.

Short Story: A Good Day at the ballpark

Annie was so caught up in the game, she forgot which team she was supposed to be cheering on. A game that great makes a good day at the ballpark.

Annie stirred restlessly on the hot seats. She wanted to travel about the new stadium, but the game was too exciting. Not a game filled with inning after inning of ho-hum plate appearances, there had been strikeouts, homers, wild pitches, and stealing of bases by the fourth inning to satisfy all the fans.
